Creating automated workflows in BPM suites has proven to be very difficult in the previous generation of BPM solutions. Yet it can lead to a significant gain in overall productivity. Especially on an Enterprise scale where you need to track processes for many activities simultaneously. This does not always have to be complicated or require long IT implementation processes with easy BPM.
Business Process Management (BPM) provides companies with the possibility to focus on value-adding end-to-end processes while supporting them with IT systems. Its main purpose lies in implementing process-based, long-running and wide-reaching business applications with a specific set of tools (Business Process Management System, abbr. BPMS). Additionally, it supports the organizational change management which is required to successfully roll-out these changes throughout the company.

This has to be reflected in the BPM system itself.
